Dear devotees, donors and well-wishers,
We are excited to present "Jagannath Cow Care," a new goshala at Rajapur Jagannatha Mandir. This initiative by ISKCON Mayapur marks the second phase of development for the Mayapur Goshala. Our primary goal is to expand our cow protection program by enhancing our services. By establishing an extension goshala in Rajapur, we will be able to accomplish several objectives.
Firstly, Jagannath Cow Care will provide a retirement home for our aging senior herd, offering them a peaceful atmosphere. This will allow the aged cows and bullocks to relax in the veneration, gratitude, and care befitting their years of service to Sri Sri Radha Madhava
Additionally, Jagannath Cow Care will provide a secure shelter for the Mayapur herd during seasonal floods, and Sri Sri Jagannath Baladev and Subhadra will also receive pure milk from protected cows due to the construction of this goshala.
As we embark on this journey to expand our cow protection project in Mayapur, in line with the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, we kindly request your support in funding various key areas of the project.
We need your help to build Jagannath Cow Care, set up fencing, shelters, secure our water supply, set up the road, and purchase a cow ambulance to manage the sick cows.
Our Goals
Fencing
Our area currently consists of one expansive mango orchard where the cows can graze. It is important that we subdivide this area into smaller enclosures. The installation of durable fencing and posts is needed to establish distinct enclosures for various herds. This infrastructure will significantly enhance the efficiency of managing and caring for our cows.
To cover the costs associated with the installation of the required fencing, we will need Rs 10,00,000. This investment will not only serve to protect our herd but also enable us to have a sustainable approach to land management. By cyclically rotating the cows throughout these paddocks, we can effectively cater to the needs of both the cows and the land they live on.
Shelters
We deeply appreciate the contributions our senior cows and bullocks have made throughout their lives. In gratitude for their service, we aspire to build a spacious retirement shed capable of accommodating up to 40 retired cows and bullocks. This facility will offer our senior herd a secure space to enjoy their golden years while receiving specialized care and attention. In addition, we plan to include other crucial infrastructures such as a hospital enclosure, a nursery, and a rehabilitation center. These elements are essential for the seamless functioning of the cow shelter.
To realize this vision and ensure the construction of these essential shelters, we require a sum of Rs 25,00,000. This infrastructure will also provide our Mayapur herd refuge from seasonal floods and challenging weather conditions.
Utilities
We must establish a power line infrastructure to illuminate the premises and ensure a continuous electricity supply. To provide clean drinking water and proper sanitation facilities, it is essential to install comprehensive pipe systems throughout the goshala. This installation will enhance hygiene, health, and the overall well-being of our cows.
The total cost for implementing these infrastructures, including roadworks, will be Rs 9,00,000.
Ambulance
A fully equipped ambulance facilitates the safe and convenient transportation of sick or injured cows to veterinary hospitals when serious medical attention is needed. This is essential for providing timely and effective healthcare.
Additionally, it serves as a reliable means of transporting essential supplies like feed, hay, and veterinary equipment, ensuring the uninterrupted care and sustenance of our senior cows in case of an emergency. A well-equipped cow ambulance capable of fulfilling this requirement is estimated to amount to Rs 20,00,000. Any help in acquiring this crucial cow ambulance will significantly enhance the goshala's ability to ensure the safety, health, and happiness of our beloved inhabitants.
